Dr. William (Bill) Barnard opened Central Florida Urgent Care in February, 2007. He is a board-certified emergency room physician, and has worked in Central Florida emergency rooms for over 20 years. It has been his personal goal to bring his medical experience and skills to serve the community that he loves with a walk-in clinic for patients who do not have a physician, those who can't get a timely appointment with their physician, and those who want to avoid long emergency room waits for minor injuries and illnesses.
Dr. Barnard graduated from Edgewater High School where he was a member of the Metro Champs football team. He received his B.S. and PhD degrees from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and his M.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.
After completing medical school, he and his wife, Pam McElyea Barnard, a 5th generation Floridian, returned to Orlando and enjoyed raising their two sons, Paul and Brad here. Both of their sons reside in the Orlando area, and Paul and his wife, Patti, have 2 sons, Jake William and Luke Michael.
The Barnards are members of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, and are active in the community. When Dr. Barnard isn't working, he enjoys reading, spending time with his family and loves flats fishing, especially fly fishing for tarpon. He is involved in the Coastal Conservation Association, Back-country Fly-fishing Club, and the Florida Wildlife Federation, as well as his affiliations with many medical organizations, and committees.
